Microsoft Calculator Plus

I am constantly having to convert different measurement units from one to another.  Lately I've been using this nifty calculator from Microsoft.  It has some neat features like allowing you to convert from various measurements, to other measurements.  I'm more or less posting this so I remember to download this tool next time I wipe a machine or set up a computer for someone.  Check it out!

Sunday Comedy Relief - John Pinette

It's been a long few weeks / month as we try and put the finishing touches of one of the largest software development projects I've ever worked on.  Time for a laugh! John Pinette is one of the most hysterical guys I have ever seen.  John's routines revolve around his weight and love for buffets.  My personal favorite routines can be seen on his new DVD "I say Nay, Nay".  John Pinette has also been in Revenge of the Nerds three and four, and was recently in The Punisher!  Also if you live in Winnipeg, he is coming here!  Check out his YouTube video below and get ready to laugh!  Make it a great week!

 

You will remember twitter!

One of my software architects was showing me this new web 2.0 site called twitter.  twitter tries to focus on one simple topic, "What are you doing?".  By combining blogging, web, IM, and phone, Twitter allows its users to send simple text messages via their telephones to the Twitter web site about what they are doing.  Sounds simple right?  It is!  Blogger's can add Twitter right to their blogs allowing them to let their readers know what they are doing at any point in time, keeping their blogs up to date even quicker than ever before!  You can also send IM's to the twitter bot via a few popular IM Clients.

What's more, you can subscribe to twitter's via your phone or other RSS Readers.  This is an awesome feature.  For example check out CNN on Twitter.  By subscribing to this feed, you are able to optionally receive updates every time the CNN headlines change!  This is a neat feature as it also sends along a link with the complete story for reading.

Anyway twitter is easier to experience than to explain, so check it out!
